Coach holds the cans and the student does each step of the checklist including going through the actual physical universe handlings for each step if that step were found to be out. For example, student checks the coach's hands to see if they are too dry, and does the handling that would be done if he found that they were actually too dry. (The last two steps of the checklist include audited handlings which would have to be done by a higher-classed auditor: these audited handlings are not drilled as part of this drill.) On any flunk, the coach shows the student the exact LRH reference violated.
