CANCELLATION OF HCOB 30 JULY 1970
THE TECH AND ETHICS OF CONFESSIONALS
- HCOB 30 July 1970, THE TECH AND ETHICS OF CONFESSIONALS, is hereby cancelled.
- BTB of 6 March 77, same title, remains cancelled.
This HCOB consisted of notes which were allegedly taken during an LRH briefing given on Flag in July 1970. The notes were written up and published as a bulletin without LRH's ever seeing or okaying them. The HCOB was converted to a BTB in 1977. In 1984 another, instead of cancelling it, erroneously had the BTB reinstated as an HCOB.
The issue as written implied that a confessional auditor should not accept an overt of omission, contrary to numerous LRH references on handling overts, including the following:
- TAPE: 6202C20 WHAT IS A WITHHOLD HCOB 20 July 1963 YOU CAN BE RIGHT
- HCOB 1 Nov 1968 II OVERT-MOTIVATOR DEFINITIONS
- HCOB 30 Nov 1978R CONFESSIONAL PROCEDURE
- HCOB 23 OCT 83 SEC CHECKING: NOTE
Some of the key LRH references which cover other subjects touched on in this now-cancelled issue―HCO's relationship to Confessionals, F/Ning a Confessional and cases and morale of staff―are listed here:
